“I will pay you tomorrow!”, Igbo musician sing. Music from Nigeria, I hear, is kind of handsome. Positive thinking. Very clear and hands-on, materially oriented. It is, because life is on earth, it is a variation of material problems, and the wealthiest and richest in Igbo society are believed most near to God, Christ, and all good things. In contrary to “the other world”, “the ancestral world”, are cultural phenomenons, which exist since thousands of years. It is a believe, that God rules all, and Portugese colonialists brought Catholicism, whereas oral history delivers much that happened up to nowadays.
Music among the Igbo is like dance a part of life, nearly as important as lingo. Communication and networking consists of 24 hour – activities, and even in sleep “things happen”. “Tomorrow is another day”, Reggae artist Culture sings. God cares for the human beings, life and proper prayer.
Music among Sybil.Muzak Beatzphere Club is a central topic in life. I, Sybil, grew up with Jazz music. My parents owned many LPs with music from all over the world. I remember singing and dancing half of the day. What I learned from it was, that I liked music, I chose my favorite tracks myself, and I developed my very own taste and preferences in sounds. My musical socialization contains of Jazz, Classics, Rock, 1960ies Beatles and very well known hits, there on.I learned about instruments from around the world, and I gained even more through my talent in studying Classical guitar for some eight years.
What is important, I think, is to obtain capabilities in searching music pieces, or finding songs to sing or to play on guitar. My choices base on daily guitar exercises and harmonies. B9 is a nice harmony to listen to, and from praxis I found, it used in many hundreds of songs. There exist Pop Music analytics, which proove, that even special chord progressions are used in thousands of songs. I collected some files about it; and it is highly interesting to find the variance of songs with same or similar chord progressions. I like the platform E-Chords to gain more variety to sing and play guitar. I simply listen to music and if it touches my soul, my feelings or my life, I overview harmonies online. To make way for acquisition, I care for lyrics and melody of a given song. So lyrics and/or harmonies become a title in my repertory. Then, I search notes, store Inet entries to work, and try over and over. I can hear with my eargear, plus I hope that medical science and technology find some machines for my ears to hear better. I use headphones for clarity of sound.
