As being born in 1964, I really experienced many movements human beings undertook on this one planet. First, Jazz. Then, the Love Revolution by the end of the sixties. Then the fun seventies to manifest peace in enjoyment, with disco, high heels fashion, curls and locks everywhere, plateaus, glitter, long and wild hair, colors, and new wave uprising. Inbetween, the No-Future-Movement: Punks, colored hair, black lips, kaputt jeans, leather jackets, hard music in fast beatz – 95 to 100 in speed, all languages sung – discover your roots, or beat disco with a little drop of psychedelic. Discover yourself and your roots, somehow, was a slogan, and if there are no roots, invent some. At the time of the beginning 1980ies it was allowed to ask the parents already, or grandparents, relatives and social environment to find some cultural elements, at least.
And there was Prince: Do it yourself and as much as you can do, be a star in it. Individually take your roots, and make as much money as possible with it. Regerminating individuality and artsy self-development to distribute to the people, their needs and well – behaved, disciplined fun. Take a lighter with you, go to concert or gig, and support the artist(s) on stage. They mean it good with you, and they attempt to give you a better life. This is what you get from your concert entry ticket, and the entertainment, the new masterpieces and movements. Invite your friends, wherever you are, come together really and forget classes or levels of society. The more extreme your youth was, the better the biz after then. And what you not all experienced.
To think of the environment and go out into nature became a part of the modern world around 1982/3. Real people have to go to green was the purpose. Or take your bike there. And even better: Film it. In case, you don’t own a film camera, photograph. Stand, look, make icons for photos and be in the picture – forever. Emancipation, being oneself, artsy and uniqueness feelings led to a big variety of styles, fashion, and less societal pressure to stay in one social group. Networking, oh yes. I heard of.
