Sybil’s Explorations In Shapes Of Sound

Oct 16, 2024 by Sybil - 0 Comments

Our feelings are subject to conscious musical processes, but also to disordered noises. The infinite sound is with us from the beginning of the universe. It is like a carpet of sound that influences us even before we are born. As an expression of our human existence, we not only make noise, but also allow ourselves to be accompanied by regular waves that we refer to as music in an orderly manner. Tones, sounds and music accompany us all day, our whole life. Music arises from creative processes and encounters us in the third millennium as compositions in the form of ethereal transmission.

Music can be considered as a mirror of our soul, melodies and lyrics are artistic creations of unique quality and mostly typical of their authors, but also in the interpretation of their performers. My contribution to the orchestration of eternal sounds is condensed into a publication of a GIG album called SYBIL +1 GIG (Sybil & Beatzphere Club 2024). Only 200 copies will be pressed, so SYBIL +1 GIG is already an asked for collector’s item!

Constant change and variance as a directive of the original music concept developed into song lyrics and poems. Historically and globally oriented music finds resonance in Sybil’s compositions as ambitious statements. The most famous song “Drive 2 Survive” reflects thoughts of the environmental movement, “Pearl Tears” those of acceptance and tolerance. “Warehouse Pops” depicts a spontaneous party in an abandoned warehouse in Los Angeles. “Baby” is a proud love song, “Green Hop” is intended to generate donations for Fridays For Future. “Restart Happiness” describes a complicated relationship. “La Brea” depicts street life in Hollywood, “Future A Hit” and “Need Some Nice” focus on a fulfilling future with hope and confidence. “I Feel So Happy About It” and “Will I Ever Be” stem from feelings of individual doubt.

Exploring my sound will support you feeling good and relaxed. I experimented with lyrics and different sounds using speech rhythm of the voice. Each session was and is an exploration of my artistic range on the guitar and of my voice. Throughout the creative process, I found myself drawing inspiration from a variety of artists. A significant role in producing my sound play classical compositions and I feel influenced by The Beatles, Esther Ofarim, Prince, Yoko Ono, Abba, Tina Turner, Billie Holiday, Bill Withers, Amy Winehouse, Nina Hagen, Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald, Boney M., Leonard Cohen, Eurythmics, Jefferson Airplane, Colosseum, Edith Piaf, Can, CCR, Nina Simone, Classics like Mozart, Tschaikowsky, Alban Berg, feschprivat & wayward, The Jam, Taste, R. E. M., Louis Armstrong, Erik Satie, Arvo Paert, 5th Dimension, Coolio, Violent Femmes, Sonic Youth, The B52’s, The Velvet Underground, The Who, Burning Spear, Anthony B., Bob Marley, Motown 60s Soul, Northern Soul, Barrelhouse Jazzband Vienna, Led Zeppelin, Adele, Beyonce, Madonna, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Lori Lieberman, Lyres, Rory McLeod, Janis Joplin, Cher, Tears For Fears, The Rolling Stones, Whitney Houston, and many more!

Events throughout my life are fueling my lyrics, as are reveries and daydreams. Of course, each song tells a story and I can introspect deeply rooted emotions to start my notes and read poems about love, relationships or touching heartbeat. Travel impressions, feelings or experiences as ideas and intuition of the musical activities that were restarted by me in 2018, led to intensive engagement with music theory, language, and digital programs in alternative, pop, rock genres.

I work alone, so from the concept status on, I am involved in each step of development of songs, melodies, harmonies, mix and masters. In digital production I seek for unique flairs for each song, even within chord progressions and top line voice. Upcoming projects will explore new topics and themes, while maintaining the core essence of what makes my music special. I plan to experiment further with different genres and I will lay out future projects in dossiers containing collections of compound musical material. Layering instruments bound to expressive sketches belong to more phases of the creative process. Songs, sketches, and works can be found on the worldwide web.

I feel excited to not only meet friends of my youth and student time, but also new contacts and networks, respectively critics found in the previous years. Many of them connect via artsy activities in Vienna, some are party companions to sing, chat and dance with. I am eager to enchant my audience with my songs I wrote in 2024! Additionally, I will sing some entertaining and well – known cover songs to celebrate my birthday and the time ahead. Let us have some fun to create memorable moments before Christmas, perhaps we can record “Happy Christmas!” or “Oh, Happy Day!” together.
